Toxic Parts

All parts of this plant are toxic, but the roots are the most dangerous. Roots are most toxic before flowering.

Symptoms

  • Sap causes numbness and tingling if rubbed on the skin
  • Nausea
  • Anxiety
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Weakness
  • Restlessness
  • Salivation
  • Numbness
  • Vertigo
  • Prickling of the skin
  • Impaired speech and vision
  • Chest pain
  • Spasms
  • Weak pulse
  • Convulsions
  • Paralysis of lower and upper extremities
  • Respiratory paralysis
  • Coma
  • Warning signs - Call our office or the poison control center if:
